Timely and accurate communication is critical for ensuring that REC stakeholders have access to the information they need to make informed decisions about the code arrangements.
Weekly Bulletins
Initial feedback from our stakeholders was that we were sending too many communications on a variety of subjects. We listened to the feedback and implemented two weekly bulletins which are released on a Friday. Users can subscribe and unsubscribe to the bulletins through an email to enquiries@recmanager.co.uk or by raising a Service Desk ticket.
The REC Round Up bulletin contains updates and links within the REC Portal for information relating to:
The Change and Release bulletin contains details on relevant Change Proposals and consultations.
Social Media
We are using the REC Code Manager LinkedIn account which now has around 600 followers. Our YouTube channel hosts recordings from each event that we have hosted.
Using social media and our combined networks allows us to reach new stakeholders which would be outside of our normal remit. We publish videos, podcasts, training events and service updates for our followers. We link to other useful accounts such as RECCo or CACoP to offer a view across the retail energy and code landscape.
Templates and formats
In line with the RECCo value of digitalisation, we have reviewed the formats and software we use for our documentation and user guides. We have uplifted our existing user guides and our communications plan and strategy to a more digital interactive format which will be published on the REC Portal in April 2022 alongside the improved Knowledge Repository.
This Annual Report has also been developed in this software to enable you to click through interactively to the sections you want to read. In-built analytics will provide us with page hits and other information to enable us to tailor future content.
Podcasts
We continue to use digital tools to assist Parties with knowledge and education. Our podcast series continues to provide updates on individual topics or a more general round up of queries which we have received through our ‘postbag roundup’.
Events
We've introduced a new process for managing events with a coordinated approach through registration, access, post event publication. All Code Managers now use the events@recmanager.co.uk mailbox to manage events and we've aligned on technology to ensure that you receive the same standard from all parts of the Code Manager.
We're ramping up the volume of events between April and July 2022, as we increase the level of support and information available ahead of CSS go-live in July 2022. Outputs and recordings from all events are available to be viewed from within the new REC Wiki service.
